Claude Desktop and claude.ai (web) both connect to remote MCP servers as custom connectors, with the same flow.

Add the connector

Open Connectors

Go to Settings, Connectors and choose Add custom connector.

Enter the server

Name it ContentHero and set the remote MCP server URL:
https://mcp.contenthero.ai

Authorize

Claude opens the OAuth consent page. Sign in with your ContentHero account and approve. No API key needed.

Verify

Ask Claude to read your balance. It calls get_balance and returns your credits. By default the connector asks before each call; you can switch it to always allow in the connector settings. On claude.ai (web), the flow is the same: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, with the URL https://mcp.contenthero.ai.

Note

Custom connectors are available on Claude paid plans. If you do not see Add custom connector, check that your plan supports it.
